Curate Show Artwork
Shows have show-level artwork slots (Poster, Backdrop, Banner, Logo, Clearart, Character Art, Key Art, Landscape, and more) plus season artwork. Most are filled from providers on their own; the rest need your eye. This recipe walks the editor's Artwork tab and shows how to fill and replace single slots.
Step 1: Open the Artwork tab
Open the show's page from Library, select Edit show, then select the Artwork tab.
The tab opens on a list of slots. Each slot says Set or Not set. Season artwork shows how many seasons have artwork (for example 3 of 5), and Extra backdrops appears when the show has them. Select a slot to work on it.
Step 2: Fill the empty slots in one pass
Select Fill N empty slots below the list. MetaTana fetches artwork for every empty slot at once, following:
- Provider order in Settings › Providers › Source priority
- Artwork languages in Settings › Providers › More sources
The fetches run in the background and appear in Activity under Show › Fetches.
Step 3: Replace a single slot
With a slot selected, you can:
- Open current artwork to see the image in use
- Show options to list the providers' images (Refresh loads them again), then pick one
- paste an Image URL and select Use URL
- Upload a file from your computer, or pick an image from the show's own folder
- Clear the slot
Files and history, collapsed at the bottom, lists the artwork files on disk and every past change.
Step 4: Curate seasons
Select Season artwork for per-season posters. Each season shows its current artwork and lets you replace it the same way.
To keep artwork from being replaced by later scrapes and refreshes, select the show in Library and choose More › Other actions › Lock artwork. See Lock fields against future scrapes.
What success looks like
- Every slot you care about says Set
- Season artwork covers every season (for example 5 of 5)
- Fill N empty slots is gone, or counts only slots you chose to leave empty
- Activity shows a finished fetch for every filled slot
